Aviation students are taught directly from the FAA's aviation database. Academics include a rigorous course of aerodynamics, aircraft systems, flight instruments, regulations, airport procedures and operations, weather services, aircraft performance, navigation and communication procedures. Upon completion of the course, students will have gained enough knowledge to pass the FAA's private pilot written test. In addition, our Beech Bonanza flight simulator is used to enhance practical flight skills. The students get to practice takeoff's straight and level flight, turns, climbs, descents, instrument interpretation, landings, traffic pattern operations and navigation.

Field trips include:

  • Comair Aviation Academy where students get to fly on state of the art simulators, preflight Cessna 172 and tour the Comair facility
  • Deland Airport for a free flight via the FAA's Young Eagles Program
  • Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
