   Ms. Jennifer Coursin

It is our privilege to introduce our "Rookie" teacher of the year, Jennifer Coursin. Ms. Coursin has only been teaching for one year, but you wouldn't know it by watching her teach.  She is dynamic, engaging, and is unafraid to take risks.  She understands teaching is as much an art as it is a science.  She has mastered the standards and can deliver the Civics curriculum with fidelity and passion to both pre-IB and standard students.

Ms. Coursins’ students are producing quality work and are excited about learning.  They work in cooperative groups to examine critical benchmarks, and to reach their learning goals.  All students are assigned a role so that everyone may be held to the same standard of learning.  They interact with technology on a regular basis in order to prepare, prosper, and thrive in our global society.

Ms. Coursin is devoted to her students--she gives them the confidence to be something greater than they are.  They can explain what they know; what they want to know; and what they have learned.  She is fair and consistent in every situation, and for this we feel proud to have her represent Sanford Middle’s learning community.
